Serious inspiration for "BigHat" when Brooklyn Poet Irving Barry makes a studio visit to the ArtLot

Brooklyn Poet Irving Barry paid a visit to WorldWiDeTour's "BigHat" down at the ArtLot the other day. Here is a shot of Irv reading a poem about his grandfather dreaming of herring at the Metropolitan (Museum of Art, that is). "BigHat" responded with a drawing inspired by the reading. Barry read 7 or 8 poems (some of them two or three times so "BigHat" could think about it, if you get the drift), including his notorious "Pancake Heaven", inspired by his many visits to the "Hook & Anchor" here in Redhook.

Bad weather over Holiday does not clog outpouring of Masterpieces during "Spectacular Special" event @ ArtLot.

Back on December 19th when a blizzard paralyzed the New York Art Worlds evening of fetes and fundraisers WorldWiDeTour09's visiting itinerent interloper artist in residence "BigHat", showed up as scheduled for the Live "Request-A-Painting" Broadcast kickoff from the ArtLot in Redhook, Brooklyn. As the B61 Bus plowed ahead, "BigHat" took callers requests to paint sites, memories and incidents along the B61 route. With the woodstove stoked, "BigHat" forged ahead. Have a look.

Big Snowstorm @ ARTLOT

Back on Saturday night December 19, 2009 a foot of snow fell on the ARTLOT, paralyzing the New York Art World. It was the kickoff for the series of live broadcasts by WorldWiDeTour09's visiting artist "BigHat". The lone Super-Duper Pleinair Modernist was not thwarted by this turn of fate. Before an audience of undetermined number "BigHat" turned out numerous paintings, keeping pace with the changing weather conditions as if he was in Central Park on a perfect June day. I witnessed the event from my well protected perch and here is some of what I saw.
